Special Message from our Pastor

I welcome you to The St. John Fisher Catholic Church, A Family of familias, it is located in the north side of Richmond. We are a parish community of 900 families. The parishioners, clergy, and staff strive to be faithful to the mission of Christ in building the Kingdom of God, by celebrating, educating, and practicing our faith at home, in the church, and in our society within the spirituality of Stewardship by sharing our Talents, Treasures, and Time. To celebrate our faith, we offer one daily Mass in our Chapel and four weekend Masses in our Temporary Place of Worship; currently, we are in the process of building a New Temple. We offer as well, opportunities to celebrate all other Sacraments. For these matters an initial appointment with the pastor is always needed to establish the sacramental needs and the most adequate celebration for your family. We also host a Charismatic Prayer Group that meets on Fridays; and the Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament Ministry in our Chapel on Thursdays.

To educate our faith, we offer different programs of formation for children, youth, and adults. The sacramental education is provided by the pastor and the deacons. We provide a safe environment for our children, and as a priority for our educational ministry to the teens-youth, we walk lovingly with them using the Life Teen/EDGE programs. We recognize the urgency of ministering to our youth through the perspective of Christ, as they are confronting very aggressive secular challenges during this fragile time in their lives.

To practice our faith, we offer different possibilities of getting involved through ministering to the elderly, the sick, and the poor. We minister to our seniors through our Association called The Tesoros. Once a month, we offer our facilities and our volunteers to welcome the elderly who are home bound or physically challenged to a special ministry event called The Gathering. We are actively involved within our community at large in the cities of Richmond and Rosenberg through the work of TMO, The Metropolitan Organization, by developing leadership in civic and neighboring social issues. We also provide concrete help to those less fortunate through the ministry of The St. Vincent de Paul Society’s Food Pantry.

St. John Fisher is proud to have its own Knights of Columbus Council, Council # 12632, and our own Guadalupana Association. We are also a member of the Christian Voices for Life of Fort Bend County.

I invite you to come and visit our community of faith; you will find it as a Family willing to embrace you as one of its own. A place of Love and Solidarity, a great bunch of people you want in your side when facing struggles in life who will know how to be with you to walk together towards a better tomorrow. A church where Miracles happen every single day; come try us out, I promise you it will be an unforgettable experience. This has been my experience for the last six years.
